“Chase your dream,” Everyone said or heard at least once in their life.
Chase your dream is a pretty common saying. Heck even I say it all the time and I have talked about it a couple of times in blog posts. Chasing your dream means believing you will make it as the person you wanna be it also means that in order for your dream to come true you have to work hard you have to stop saying I’ll do it tomorrow and do it right now. That right there is chasing your dream and I have said that about 4 times in 1 paragraph.
Now people have different dreams. Some wanna be a doctor or a lawyer or someone big like an artist of some sort and or a YouTuber. They are all very different from each other but they are someone’s dream and that someone could possibly be working on it at this very moment.
Now besides everyone saying “Chase your dreams” they talk about all the hard work you have to put in. How you have to stop doubting yourself and just do it the more you doubt yourself and the more you don’t do it the bigger chance your dream may never come true and that sounded way less dark in my head than it did when typing.
So you have to work hard means you may have to change your schedule a bit and make time for your dream. If it’s singing you give yourself an hour a day or more to practice it or make it or being an artist whether that’s painting or writing you give that time to do so.
But no one talks about how exhausting the rest is. No one talks about how physically and mentally draining chasing your dream is. It deteriorates your mental health and you wonder to yourself why the f am I doing this.
Chasing your dream means growing an audience. To post on social media 100 times a day to make all types of content and do hours of researching on how to grow and what to do better and yes it sounds easy and not that bad but when you are in the middle of doing it you wanna give up you ask yourself is all this hard work really worth it.
Don’t even get me started on all these apps algorithms. They always will be changing it up which is good in a sense but also very annoying because that means you have to change what time you post and sometimes even what you post.
Instagram I think is the worse so far. They made an announcement a month or two ago talking about new changes that are coming and the biggest is that their platform will focus more on reels and videos instead of normal posts………..Sometimes I just wanna punch Instagram in the face. Instagram started as a place to share photos with your friends and family but now they love to copy every other social media app and now sharing my work is going to be 10x harder.
However, besides all that people will say never worry about the numbers. Never worry about the number of likes you get or the number of views you get and or the number of followers you have. That is a big thing that is always said when growing and chasing your dream. However when said apps keep changing looking at the numbers of likes and views and follows matter because that will tell you if its a good or bad time to post and let me tell you if that number is low it’s grabbing at our mental health and bashing our head into a wall.
This post came out more aggressive than it should have been. But I always see people talking about their dreams with a huge smile and just being all happy. But in reality, chasing your dream is truly exhausting no matter what your dream is. But as I always remember in the future my future self will thank me for working so hard for my dream to come true.
With that being said I love one quote that keeps me going
The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel – Steven Furtick.
