I realized a couple of days ago that I haven’t shared a two-minute story or a story at all in a while so I thought I would share one today.
This story is back in 2019 when covid wasn’t a thing and I was in hell also called high school. Now from when I was young until now I have had horrible problems with my teeth which lead to a lot of dentists appointments and putting me under because I developed bad anxiety and it was just a mess.
Well in October of last year I was put under and got stuff done including getting a tooth pulled. Well with this tooth pulling they didn’t stitch it close and they trusted that my gums and well body would heal itself….. Of course, that didn’t really happen because after barely a week I ended up with a dry socket which means there’s no blood where the tooth was. The blood that should be in there helps form new gums. If anyone has had a dry socket you know how bad it is and if you don’t it makes your mouth taste horrible and it’s sore and overall a very annoying thing to deal with.
Well after that whole thing. I developed really bad jaw pain. Now a year before this pain the same thing happened and it ended up being a sinus infection and it was the weather where I usually tend to get them. Two doctors and two different meds and the pain was worse than ever I wasn’t sleeping eating and it was horrible so I finally went to urgent care where I was given a needle for pain and the doctor said I didn’t have a sinus infection and that I had TMJ and the TMJ was caused from me eating on side of my mouth for a whole month due to my dry socket.
Now, you’re wondering ok where is this going? It’s getting boring hurry up.
Well, once I found out about TMJ he gave me a stronger pain medicine called Neoproxin and let me tell you it worked wonders and it worked so good that when I got my period I didn’t feel a single thing. It was amazing.
But with every medicine comes side effects. Some are worse than others. Well, when it came to this one I didn’t really have side effects. So when it came it the meds it would take an hour to kick in and the pain was gone for the rest of the day until I took it again.
So before school, I would take the meds and head off. When I would get to school people would talk to me and ask me things and I was confused. It was like my brain couldn’t comprehend what they were saying and any action I did I was just confused and lost. Now I wasn’t like “Where am I” it was more like “Huh repeat that again” Although they said it fives times.
When I placed things down I would forget and I would get super overwhelmed because I literally was so confused and it was honestly pretty funny and even my friends were worried because I was just so out of it. Well after taking the meds for about a week still confused I got bored and decided to search up the side effects of the meds I was taking.
The first side effect
Confusion….
The first side effect WAS LITERALLY CONFUSION. WHAT.
The reaction came out of me very quietly because I was in the library. As ross once said in friends “They should put that on the box”. I was truly shocked that this could be a side effect and never thought that’s why I was so damn lost. But it did make sense because it would be right when my meds kicked in and well I would get super confused.
From then I just had to slow down and remember that I am not that stupid or confused and it’s just my meds.
Lucky for me after about two-ish weeks the pain went away and my jaw was now not in pain. But I now always remember to check side effects.
Is this a funny or interesting story? Maybe not but looking back I do get some laughs out of it.
