The thing called perfect timing…
In honour of Nanowrimo and me trying so very hard to complete the challenge, here is another two- probably five-minute story of things that happen in my life.
So perfect timing can be great but can also be a curse.
Everyone in life has their perfect timing. The good one being you needed something to happen so another thing could happen and it happens and it’s like YES the universe is on my side. Then there are things that fastly pile up and you just stare at the pile and think what in the bull crap perfect timing is this. (It sounded better in my head).
So Nanowrimo is this month and I tried doing it last year and I only got about 3k words in before I said yeah no I’m good. So when this November rolled around well in October I knew that I would be taking part in the challenge and so all of October was me planning out the entire outline of the book I would be writing. By the end of October, I knew what each chapter was going to be and I was no longer freaking out.
My laptop was working fine.
I was not burnt out from writing.
This was going to be a GREAT writing month.
But of course, it was mid-October when my I on my keyboard was acting a little weird. Now at first, I thought maybe it was just dirty and it needed some canned air to get all the dirt off. Now I went to Walmart multiple times and kept forgetting and so I (the key i) got worse. But I just shrugged it off knowing it needed a good clean.
November comes and I’m deep in writing then my I is really starting to not work and the letter K joins in on the party. The great thing about my story was I was writing in FIRST PERSON. So it was a lot of I said I did I laughed I threw something at someone. I I I.
Mind you my laptop was working fine in September and was still going strong in October just the odd days where it acted up but it was fine and then 1st-week of NaNoWriMo is done and officially my I and K and 8 and , no longer work. Mind you my laptop works fine. It’s just the keyboard I did everything everyone told me to do like uninstall my keyboard and restart it and change settings but nothing and now I need a new keyboard for my laptop.
Somehow the ONE time that I wanted to take place in a very important challenge in the writer’s world and the ONE well TWO things that I need the one being very important no longer working. It couldn’t be a z or a question mark it had to be an I and a K.
The one thing that I have learned in this messy month is that there are a lot of words that need the letter I like a lot and there are a lot of words that need the I and the K in the same word.
It is very strange how perfect timing can happen and it is very strange how the universe just throws a punch.
This is my Nanowrimo
