My oh my it has been a while since I wrote a blog post. I kept thinking to myself what post I should do next that’s not depressing nor boring. After looking at my Goodreads account and seeing that I have read over 30+ books this year I thought why not do my top five romance books of the year
I must warn you some of these books may be a bit concerning and some may just have you staring at your screen judging me. Honestly, I judge myself for the books I read. But there are some damn good books in this list and if you like me. Running out of books to read and googling the top five romance books to read then this blog post may just add more books to your already long TBR. (Yes I’m calling you out and calling myself out)
Ps. I will be saying my All time favourite book till the very end.
1. Fix her up by Tessa Baily
This is what happens when a “playboy” baseball player’s career goes sideways but lucky for him he is offered a job. On one condition he needs to fix up his reputation and do it fast. Georgie is the innocent girl in town whose job is to go to kid’s parties and be a clown. She is sick and tired of people seeing her as cute and childlike. She wants to be seen as more mature so what happens when her crush needs help fixing his career by agreeing to fake date but the “playboy” happens to be her brother’s best friend.
I didn’t think I was going to like this book. When it comes to Tessa Bailey her books have never really peaked my interest. HOWEVER This one. Oh my. Right off the bat, it got you right into the story. It was written so amazingly, It’s funny, It’s cute, and It has its drama which I love. Sometimes romance books don’t have alot of drama and it gets boring but man was this good. It’s hot and smutty and a slow burn that will have you giggling at like 1 in the morning when you should be going to bed.I mean c’mon brother’s best friend who I’m pretty sure is a little bit older than her. It’s such an easy read a truly 5/5 .
It’s the brother’s best friend, A grumpy sunshine and an age gap

2. Praise by Sara Cate
This is what happens when Charlie and her boyfriend break up but he owes her money and if she wants it she has to go to her now ex-boyfriend’s dad to get the money from him. However, when she does show up the dad mistakes her for somebody else… And asks her to get on her knees. Charlie soon realizes that her ex-boyfriend’s dad is HOT really. I’ll leave you with that.
LORD.
Was this book hot and spicy. I mean that literally. It goes into topics of doms and subs but before I scare you off. It is such a cute and steamy romance. The romantic love interest is just amazing and sweet and has none of that why are you trying to go after this man he is actually a huge red flag RUN GIRL RUN. It’s honestly one of my all-time reads and just thinking about it makes me want to read it again. The best part is this is the first of the series they are all stand-alone so it doesn’t matter what order you read them in. If you want steamy and slow burn and overall “Holy shit this book is hot” this book is for you. The whole he’s my ex-boyfriend’s dad thing is cleaned up pretty well for how weird it is. But overall such a great read. 10/5
It’s age gap, it’s aftercare, it’s hot, it’s ex-boyfriend dad

3. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
She may be small and possibly very weak like I’m talking a big bag on her back nearly making her fall over. Is enlisted to be a dragon rider. As the famous saying goes in the fourth wing “A dragon without it’s rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead”. She must beat all the odds while everyone is practically praying for her downfall including a very angry hot guy.
If you are on Booktok or somewhere in the book community you’re probably rolling your eyes at this recommendation but it’s A GOOD BOOK. When it comes to reading romance books I can finish them in a day. I will eat those damn books up like nothing. With fantasy that’s different, it usually takes me a few days up to a week to get through it. Fantasies are very in-depth alot to remember and alot of cities to pronounce HOWEVER I damn finished this book in a day. It was that good. From Violet being a fucking badass and dragons I mean I love dragons. It was written amazingly with such good romance and such a good slow burn that still kept its fantasy. I must admit Rebecca did ad this to be an enemies to lovers like I saw it in the book. But how she describes enemies to loves compared to the book was different but there was still anger and and enemy parts to it. 5/5
If you need a romance and have been pushing off this book READ IT. It’s so good and such a good time.
From dragons, to enemies to lovers, to bad bitches to slow burn

4. Daughter Of The Pirate King By Tricia Levenseller
Alosa needs a map that happens to be on an enemy ship so what does she do? She deliberately gets kidnapped by the enemy ship. Now being a prisoner on the ship she must now find a way to find that map. With some tricks up her sleeve and the daughter of the pirate king, she will get that map. But it will be hard as Riden one of the men on the ship who happens to be very smart a little bit attractive gets in her way.
I will be honest when I read this book I never really watched or read anything pirate-related the only thing I know about pirates is the Jar of dirt. So going into this story was interesting, to say the least. Once I got into it I got into it. Man was it such a great story and has such twists and turns that had my jaw dropped.. Just like Fourth Wing, this story was finished in just a day. Like the others it’s funny it’s cute and a little hot. But besides the romance, the story itself is very interesting and the characters are so charming and just so funny. If you want to expand from romance books this will do it. There is a second book that I have yet to read but knowing how amazingly this author writes I feel it’ll just be another top 5. 5/5
Funny, slow burn, steamy, jaw-dropping

Now for my all time favourite romance book
5. The love hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
This is what happens when you need to lie to a friend about your dating life but you don’t think things through and all of a sudden when you see her in the hall and you need to think fast you kiss the first person you see. Who happens to be kinda the most hated guy and also kinda happens to be a professor. The professor also has an issue so they both decide to fake date which never goes wrong with fake dating. Never. Ever. Ever goes wrong.
This is my all-time favourite book. I got into really into reading a few years ago and this was my first ever book that I reread all the time. Like I’m talking every year at least twice. It’s the book that has gotten me out of so many reading slumps or when I just want a simple cute non sad book. It’s hot it definitely a slow burn it has its smut. It’s overall such an amazing book. I must admit that like a lot of reviews who hate this book say that the love interest is kinda bland. After reading tons of romances they’re not wrong. Could he have more depth yes he could but I’m not looking for the next classic in this story. It’s cute it’s simple it’s funny it makes you blush and just stare and remind yourself of how single you are. I love Ali Hazelwood and she is by far one of my most favourite authors when it comes to romance books. 10/5
So if you want a fake dating with age gap trope and the grumpy sunshine this book is for you.
