Valentines day in the year where either you hate it or you love it. If you’re in a relationship it’s the best day. You get to buy gifts and give all the love to your boyfriend/girlfriend. It’s an overall happy day. If you’re single it’s a depressing boring day watching romance movies and whining about how single you are. Although you end up buying chocolate and ice cream to make yourself feel better. 

As someone who has always been single on valentines day it sucks. Now some people may think why? Just go on with your day like it’s a normal day. You would think that would be easy but then you have social media and all the people who are in a relationship start posting pics of their boyfriends/girlfriends and how much they love them. Then I feel more single than I already am and then I just wanna watch movies and eat chocolate.

However I think the one thing I am happiest about this year is that I’m not in school for valentines. That was the worst, I would see all these couples carrying little bears and little gift bags and they would kiss and hug and I would go in a corner asking god why I’m not six feet under. So I guess that’s one thing to be happy about this year.

I think another good thing about this valentine is that my friend is also single usually in the past she was taken by someone so she was one of the couples but now she gets to enjoy being single on Valentines day and we both get to be depressed together. It sounds really fun to be honest. 

This valentines day I will be spending it at home watching my favorite netflix movies which involves Kissing Booth 1&2 and all three movies of To All The Boys I Ever Loved. Those are the best valentines movies to feel single to in my opinion. 

So today is the day where I’m gonna whine and feel so very single for myself why I watch the characters in movies date the person they had a crush on for years. Once the movies are done I’m still gonna whine that I am single because that’s what you do on Valentine’s day when you are super single and have no life especially when covid is still a thing and you can’t go anywhere. 

Overall Valentine’s day is a sad day for singles and a great day for people who are in a relationship. Somehow Snapchat, Instagram and Tik Tok will show all the happy couples and the singles have no escape because nowadays we are all addicted to one of those apps so today is the day where we will be on it the most.
